Mandi Alexander joined UAB Athletics in April of 2011 as the Director of Donor Relations. Alexander's primary responsibilities include oversight of the Blazer Women's Athletic Society (BWAS) as well as coordinating hospitality areas for Blazer Club donors at football and men's basketball games. In particular with BWAS, she will head up the Belles & Whistles luncheon, events for all women's sports and memberships.

Alexander will also oversee financial, event-based and communication responsibilities with the Athletic Department. Financial oversights include Athletic Department gifts, payment processing with UAB Gift Records and renewal coordination of the Blazer Boosters programs. She will head up special events like the UAB Athletics Dinner & Live Auction, Hall of Fame ceremonies and Friend Raisers, and she will serve as the point of contact for communication with donors through the Blazer Boosters website as well as monthly Blazer Boosters e-newsletters. Alexander will continue to develop and maintain relationships with existing donors.

Before joining UAB, Alexander served for the past four years as Associate Director of Development in the College of Engineering at the University of South Florida (USF) where she was responsible for seeking gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations while also maintaining constant involvement in coordinating the college's advancement and development programs. At USF, Alexander orchestrated the department's Heart of Gold annual donor scholarship appreciation luncheon, served as a key liaison with the Engineering Alumni Society and played a principle role in the organization of the Bull-arney annual event. Also while at USF, she was a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (The Florida Suncoast Chapter), a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and a participant in the 2007 Engineering Development Forum (EDF).

Before she began her work at USF, Alexander also worked in the arena of development by serving as Assistant Director of Regional Development at the University of South Carolina from 2006 to 2007 and as Coordinator of Telefunding Programs for the MSU Foundation at her alma mater, Mississippi State University.

PERSONAL: Alexander is a native of Starkville, Miss., and resides in Birmingham.
