BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The 2014 fall seasons will be underway for UAB Athletics this weekend and Blazer fans will again be able to hear all the action by tuning into the Blazer IMG Sports Network.

All UAB football, basketball and baseball broadcasts, along with weekly call-in shows, will air on Cumulus Radio stations in Birmingham. Cumulus and the Blazer IMG Sports Network recently renewed their contract for three more seasons.

The first broadcast will be Thursday, Aug. 28, when Blazer Sportsline, the 60-minute radio call-in show featuring head coach Bill Clark is aired on 100.5 ESPN JOX2 FM in Birmingham. UAB fans will have the opportunity to visit with Coach Clark and host David Crane each week. Crane returns for his eighth season as the "Voice of the Blazers."

The Blazer Sportsline program will have a new time during the football season and will once again be broadcast live from Dreamland BBQ in Birmingham (1427 14th Avenue South). The show will air each Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. CT with the exception of Sept. 18 due to the Blazers' open date that weekend.

The Green and Gold faithful will be able to hear Blazer Sportsline each week throughout the football and basketball campaigns.

When the 2014 football season begins Saturday against Troy, Crane will be joined in the booth by former Birmingham News UAB beat writer Steve Irvine who will handle analyst duties.

Sam Miller, who worked at UAB in the athletics department for more than a decade, will serve as the sideline reporter for the fourth straight season during Blazer broadcasts. Jon Gentile is back for his 17th year as the broadcast operations manager.

Each football broadcast will begin 60 minutes prior to kickoff. UAB football can be heard on WUHT-FM 107.7 in Birmingham.

"Blazers All-Access," a 30-minute television show, will feature information and highlights on all UAB sports, with an emphasis this fall on Blazer football. The show will be carried on ABC 33/40 in Birmingham at 10:30 a.m. The first airing of the show this season will be Sept. 6. There will be no Blazers All-Access show on Sept. 20 and Nov. 15 when UAB has open dates.
