BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB Athletics Department and ISP Sports, the exclusive multi-media and advertising rightsholder for Blazer Athletics, have announced an extension of their partnership for the next 10 years (through June 2019).
The new agreement marks the second time that the university and ISP have agreed to lengthen their relationship which was initiated in 2005.
"We are excited to extend our relationship with ISP Sports and look forward to the opportunities that this new agreement will bring to UAB and our athletics program," said UAB Director of Athletics Brian Mackin. "This long-term partnership represents a significant increase in the investment that ISP has made in our athletics program and will benefit our fans, sponsors and multi-media partners as we maximize our sports marketing."
ISP develops, produces and markets a variety of sponsorship opportunities at UAB, including live radio play-by-play and call-in shows, advertising in athletic department publications and on the official department website (www.UABsports.com), and signage in university athletics facilities.
As part of the agreement, UAB also announced that it will join ISP in adding new, state-of-the art scoreboards for Bartow Arena, Young Memorial Field and the Blazers' new on-campus softball facility that is scheduled to open for the 2010 season. The scoreboards, which will be produced by industry leader Daktronics, will provide additional information and video capabilities that will feature LED technology while offering expanded inventory opportunities for corporate partners.
The video equipment will be run by a new mobile truck that will provide live game production services and instant replay capabilities that will also be used at UAB home football games at Legion Field.
"There is no question that the additions of the new video boards in Bartow Arena, as well as at our baseball and softball venues, will enhance our fans' game day experience and provide a new dimension of enjoyment for all in attendance," said Mackin. "This is another positive step in our ongoing plans to improve our facilities and bring them to a level that is competitive within our conference and on a national level.

The national leader in collegiate sports marketing, ISP currently maintains partnerships with more than 60 NCAA member institutions, conferences, bowl games and venues. The ISP family of leading universities and conferences reaches into 34 states from the Northeast through the mid-Atlantic and Southeast, while extending across the Southwest and most of the West coast as well.
In addition to UAB, six other Conference USA members are affiliated with the Winston-Salem (NC) based company.
