UAB Had 32 Student-Athletes Earn C-USA Academic Medal

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB had 32 student-athletes earn the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal for the 2013-14 academic year, the league announced Friday.

There are 13 different sports are represented on the list, with eight teams having multiple honorees. The women’s track and field/cross country team led the way with six student-athletes earning academic medals.

Men’s soccer, women’s soccer and women’s tennis each had four, while baseball and women’s golf added three and men’s basketball had two.

A total of 670 student-athletes have earned the honor, which is given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
