Five Blazers Inducted Into Chi Alpha Sigma

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Five UAB student-athletes were inducted this academic year into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society.

Four UAB women's basketball players and one women's tennis player were inducted into the Alabama Alpha Chapter.

The honor society recognizes student-athletes for their outstanding scholarship, athletic achievements and excellent character and citizenship.

To be eligible for membership, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better, have lettered in their sport and be recommended by their coach and athletic advisor.

Here are this year's UAB inductees:

Women's Basketball
Jasmine Green
Amber Jones
TaRonda Randall
Khalilah Watson

Women's Tennis
Richole Berger

The UAB athletic department will recognize all inductees Friday at the sand volleyball match versus Tulane at 4 p.m. as part of the National Student-Athlete Day festivities.

The day honors student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics, while having made significant contributions to their schools and communities.
