Strength & Conditioning Center
UAB's Strength and Conditioning program, the Blazers' staff and student-athletes can boast of having one of the finest facilities around.
The center opened in January of 2008 and houses a 10,000 square-foot weight room that features more than 40,000 pounds of free weights.
Located in Wallace Gymnasium, the facility is more than triple the size of the area the Blazers had utilized previously in Bartow Arena. The bright and spacious weight room area includes state-of-the-art equipment for weight training, stretching and conditioning workouts.
The staff, which has offices housed within the facility, uses a variety of techniques to assist the Blazers in achieving maximum performance and potential. With a heavy emphasis on Olympic style weightlifting, the program concentrates on speed, power and strength.
