UAB Sand Volleyball Courts

UAB Sand Volleyball Courts

Constructed prior to the inaugural season of intercollegiate sand volleyball, the UAB Sand Volleyball Courts are located on 11th Avenue South, adjacent to West Campus Field and across the street from UAB Softball Field.

The facility features three regulation sand volleyball courts with a grass viewing area and transportable bleachers for seating around the outside. The Blazers utilize the facility for both practices and home matches.

The courts played host to an historic contest on March 3, 2012, when UAB hosted Florida State in the first-ever sand volleyball match as an NCAA-sanctioned emerging sport.

The Florida State contest was one of three home matches for UAB during the inaugural season of competition. The Blazers picked up their first win on their home courts on April 6, 2012 against Tulane.
