DESCRIPTION
Academic mentors will serve as the front-line contact with a designated group of student-athletes throughout the semester. All mentors will report directly to the Mentor Coordinator. Weekly time commitment will vary depending upon the individual's availability (these are part-time positions). Duties include monitoring weekly academic progress of mentees, assisting in the creation of goals and deadlines, assisting with study skills and time management as well as constant written and oral communication with the athletic academic advisors and possible interaction with tutors. This job requires a certain level of academic assistance and therefore it is desired that mentors be qualified to tutor.

Ability to clarify information to a student's level of understanding
Graduate students preferred; exceptional undergraduates will be considered on a very limited basis (must be at least junior level and demonstrate a high level of maturity)
Salary will vary based on experience and educational background.
